A Posture Balance Workshop with Makiko Okaa 

Awaken Your Abdominal Muscles for Better Breathing

Your breath is the rhythm of your life. It gives you power to think, move, and feel with balance.
Breathing provides the energy and clarity for a fulfilled life.

Many people do not realize that the cause of their breathing difficulties often lies in the abdominal muscles. When these muscles do not support your life well, your breathing becomes shallow.
Then the major functions that sustain vitality no longer work properly, and emotional distress and anxiety begin to increase.

In this workshop, we will practice refunctioning the abdominal muscles to support proper breathing.
Makiko Oka, a certified practitioner of the Feldenkrais Method and Pilates, will guide you through self-healing techniques and gentle exercises that restore harmony between your abdominal muscles and your breath.

Note: We will be moving back and front over the carpeted floor, so your face may touch the surface. If you prefer, please bring your towel or mat. If you have any issues with your back, neck, or shoulders, you may bring your favorite padding for additional support.
