In yogic teaching, sound is the first creative element of the universe: sound creates space, and from space the other elements emerge. Naad is this current of sound. Through Shabad Guru and mantra, ancient sounds travel through time and space and, as the teaching says, they find us.
Longer and more intricate mantras invite a dedicated practice of their own. "Big Mantra" gives us time to learn their pronunciation, rhythm, meaning, and structure, and then experience them through sustained repetition and selected meditations that use them. We’ll also work directly with sound: how we create it, perceive it, and receive it.
Our first "Big Mantra" workshop focuses on Wah Yantee, a mantra of intuition, creativity, and renewal. Traditionally attributed to the yogic sage Patanjali, it is understood as both a description and a foreshadowing of Wahe Guru: the wonder and ecstasy of moving from darkness into light. Its words invoke Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh, the three divine powers that generate, sustain, and transform life. In this mantra, all three unite.
The practice of Wah Yantee is said to be the culmination of thousands of years of prayer.
Together, we’ll explore how Wah Yantee connects the inner Self with the greater Cosmic Self, how mantra creates a “mental vibratory impact,” and how this practice develops creative intuition through divine connection.
A candle, before it is lit, is only wax. In this workshop, mantra becomes the spark: a practice for turning inward, listening more deeply, and awakening the creative intelligence already present within us.
